Sunrise Ridge is part of the Village of Wonder Lake. Initially the village was named the Village of Sunrise Ridge in 1974, but the name was changed to The Village of Wonder Lake a few years later.

Blocks of homes in Wonder Lake are referred to as ‘subdivisions,’ and fully surround the lake. There are 23 subdivisions, and most have their own homeowners association, and 17 subdivisions are members of the Master Property Owners Association. For more information, visit the MPOA's website.

The Village of Wonder Lake is a rapidly growing community and is currently made up of the following subdivisions around Wonder Lake: Deep Springs Woods, Deerpath, Hickory Falls I, Hickory Falls II, Lookout Point Unit I, Shore Hills, Sunrise Ridge, Sunrise Ridge Estates, The Meadows of West Bay, White Oaks Bay, Wooded Shores, Woods Creek, and a portion of Wonderview.
