Spring Woods

During the summer of 1929 the gates of the dam were closed until the
water reached a level of the Ringwood/Greenwood Road that passed over
the creek as well as a small tributary that entered the valley from the
east near deep Springs Woods. The filling of the lake had to stop until
the developers purchased the soon to be flooded right of way, and build a
new road from platted subdivisions on the west side of the dam, all the
way to Rte 120.
