Lake dam was created in 1929 by constructing a 22 foot high earthern
dam across the south branch of the Nippersink Creek. It has a very large water
shed, in relation to lake size and drains approximately 62,270 acres. The
maximum depth of 13 feet is located in the north end of the lake near the
dam, and the mean depth is approx. 6.4 feet.
